Today we judged the entries for March Madness 2009. We had 24 entries from 10 brewers in 14 different styles and 9 judges. Brian Thatcher won 1st Place BOS for his Belgian Dark Strong Ale and 2nd Place BOS for his American Amber. Carey Peltz rounded out 3rd Place BOS with his American Amber. Great Beers Guys!
A big thanks to everyone who entered their beers and judged. This was a lot of fun and we look forward to it again next year. If you didn't get your score sheets before you left, we will scan them and email them to you as soon as I can get close enough to a scanner to do so.
Cheers!

Judging for Novembeerfest 2008 was held at Larry's Brewing Supply yesterday 11/1/08. The 1st Place BOS was James Golovich for his Munich Helles, "Leela's Lager". 2nd Place BOS went to Mike & Steve Brown for their Old Ale "Father Time". Rounding out 3rd Place BOS was James Golovich for his Blonde Ale "She's Not Really A Blonde, Ale". Results from all the flights can be viewed at this website.
The breweries selecting Best to Brew beers are Big Al Brewing and The Powerhouse. Big Al Brewing has selected Ken Frauenthal's Special Bitter, "Frauenbier's Special". The Powerhouse has selected Colin Lenfesty's Russian Imperial Stout, "Naughty Nikolai". Congratulations to both Ken & Colin! We will keep this site updated with the status of these beers and will announce when they will be on tap.
The winners of the flights are qualified to enter the final event for MCAB XI subject to the rules of that event and as determined by the MCAB XI Director. Currently the final event is planned for early 2009. The last two years it was held in early February. The MCAB XI director will contact the individual qualifying brewers with instructions regarding the final round.
Awards and score sheets will be mailed out in the next 10-14 days.
Thanks to Larry's Brewing Supply, all the judges and staff for making this a great event!
